Rutgers University, in its commitment to safety on campus and in compliance with the Clery Act, has procedures in place to alert the campus community in a timely manner of certain crimes reported to the University Police that occur either on or near campus.In the event of a Clery reportable crime that, in the judgment of the Chief of University Police or other authorized command staff member, constitutes a serious or continuing threat to the University community, a campus wide timely warning, also known as a “Crime Alert” will be issued.

Attention Rutgers Community:
The Rutgers University Police Department is investigating a burglary which occurred at 321 Cooper Street in Camden, between the hours of 7:30 PM and 8:00pm on March 12, 2018.
In this incident, the perpetrator gained entry to the building through an unsecured window. Once in the building the perpetrator removed items of value. The area was unoccupied at the time of this incident.
The perpetrator is described as a male with medium complexion, wearing tan pants, a black jacket with grey around the shoulders and tan boots.
The Rutgers University Police Department is actively investigating this incident and asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the Rutgers Police Department at 856-225-6009.
The Rutgers University Police Department reminds you that you can reduce your chances of being a crime victim by taking reasonable precautions, including:
- Secure points of entry to buildings and all work spaces when not in use;
- Secure all windows when not in use;
- Remain alert and aware of people and circumstances around you;
- Do not prop open exterior doors;
- Immediately report suspicious activity to local law enforcement.

their vehicles, campus residence, or the University's mass transit system.
